Alan Titchmarsh celebrates the 90th birthday of Winnie-the-Pooh, the world’s most famous bear. When A A Milne’s children’s stories and poems first appeared they were a publishing sensation. He wrote them for Christopher Robin, his only child, and he had no clue about the enormous impact they would have on the world. Alan Titchmarsh has always been passionate about Winnie-the-Pooh and his adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, Kanga and friends. Alan travels to Cotchford Farm in Sussex and the Hundred Acre Wood to see the locations that inspired the poems and books. He visits the incredible toy department at Harrods where Milne bought the toys that inspired his characters, and of course can’t resist a game of pooh sticks along the way. Alan sets out to discover why Milne, already a successful playwright, changed direction and decided to write for children.
